EXPOSICIÓN DE MURALES SOBRE MUJERES FILÓSOFAS / EXHIBITION OF MURALS ABOUT WOMEN PHILOSOPHERS

En marzo se ha llevado a cabo una exposición de murales sobre filósofas, desde Grecia a la actualidad. Ha sido una actividad bilingüe: la información está escrita en inglés. El alumnado que ha asistido a la exposición ha tenido la ocasión de votar a su mural favorito y el que más votos ha obtenido es el dedicado a Mary Wollstonecraft: filósofa inglesa del siglo XVIII, perteneciente a la Ilustración. Criticó a Rousseau porque propuso que las mujeres fueran excluidas de todos los derechos de ciudadanía, llevándose a cabo tras el triunfo de la Revolución francesa. Fue cuando Mary Wollstonecraft redactó en seis semanas su obra Vindicación de los Derechos de la Mujer. Murió de fiebre puerperal tras nacer su hija: Mary Shelley, la autora de Frankestein.
Las autoras del mural son Araceli Camacho Gavilán, Marta Román Moscosio, Paula García Quijada y Daniela Naranjo Santoveña de 1º de Bachillerato A.

In March, an exhibition of murals about female philosophers was held, covering from Greece to the present day. It was a bilingual activity, the information is written in English. The students who attended
the exhibition had the opportunity to vote for their favourite mural, and the one that received the most votes is dedicated to Mary Wollstonecraft, an English philosopher from the 18th century, belonging to the Enlightenment. She criticised Rousseau because he proposed that women be excluded from all citizenship rights, a stance taken after the success of the French Revolution. It was during this time that
Mary Wollstonecraft wrote her work A Vindication of the Rights of Woman in six weeks. She died of puerperal fever after giving birth to her daughter: Mary Shelley, the author of Frankenstein.
The authors of the mural are Araceli Camacho Gavilán, Marta Román Moscosio, Paula García Quijada, and Daniela Naranjo Santoveña from 1st year of upper secondary education (group A).
